There is a period known to the locals of Southern California as May Gray and/or June Gloom. It involves a darkening of the coastal skies of sunny southern California with a layer of marine stratus. During this time, the coastal clouds may remain all day but often give way to some hazy afternoon sunshine. This weather pattern makes San Diego appear to be monochromatic in its desaturated hues. Maybe that is why I envisioned May as monochromatic but it could also be from what I was inspired by this past month during my travels, which I'll go into more detail. In the last month, I headed south to Austin, Texas for SXSW (Conference/Festivals that celebrates the convergence of the interactive, film, and music industries) and got to see one of my all time favorite music artists; Solange. What inspired me by her show was how her stage outfits and backdrop were all hues of periwinkle that complimented the deep skin tones of her and her band members and background dancers.

After SXSW, I drove to Dallas, Tx where I used to live and work a few years ago. My former boss/friend and her fiance were eloping and hired me to run her art gallery for a week and a half. To me, the most beautiful time to be inTexas is in the Spring time. The Texas Bluebonnets are in full bloom and almost every open field is embellished by the wild bluebonnets.
So follow along with me as I shake things up from April's month where it was all about colors and patterns and show you just as much excitement in my cool, calm, and monochromatic May. There will be exciting shoots ranging from San Diego to New York, nourishing skincare product reviews and more! Enjoy darlings! Xx.
