Monthly Vision Board

A conceptual series for Habitual She

Curated by Claire Arceri with Habitual She

Do you ever experience a severe lack of inspiration? Like all the energy in the universe is working to not inspire you; Spotify gets it all wrong for your "Discover Weekly", Netflix has a million shows that aren't sparking any interest, your favorite magazines aren't even catching your eye, and (lord help) the Pinterest algorithm is not reading your mind either!! This happens from time to time and it can feel pretty cumbersome. I am an extremely observant person so my brain is in constant overdrive, focusing in on interactions, objects and how they influence what is around me....from the self-consciously personal, through an exploration of my place in the World, to the common search for meaning in life, and finally to a visionary expression of what all of this means to me. I feel this month's vision board is a testament to engaging with and encompassing not only the seemingly prosaic details of life, but also the artistry, contradiction, unity, and wondrousness woven within and beyond.

I wanted to share this poem that I came across that I thought was timely.

Maybe it’s all utterly meaningless.
Maybe it’s all unutterably meaningful.
If you want to know which,
pay attention to
what it means to be truly human
in a world that half the time
we’re in love with
and half the time
scares the hell out of us…

The unexpected sound of your name on somebody’s lips.
The good dream.
The strange coincidence.
The moment that brings tears to your eyes.
The person who brings life to your life.

Even the smallest events hold the greatest clues.
