Beauty Heros April Subscription Box

I realize this post is coming in a little late, but due to the busyness of April, I've had to postpone this review until May. So this means you will be getting two product reviews this month! I know, so sad, right?!

For the record, I'll tell you that I have never been one of those girls you see in their bathrobes and slippers, hair in a towel and a mud mask applied. Believe me, I singularly enjoy all of those things, but I wouldn't say I am a  girl of strict routine that pencils her mask in once a week like most mask products recommend. My skin is fairly normal with the tendency to be dry. Most masks that I have experienced, no matter if they say they are hydrating, leave my face tight and dry. I would say I apply a mask once a month on average. For the sake of giving a truthful review within a months time, I made sure to pencil my mask in once a week for you.

So let us get started. I had so much fun photographing these products, as you'll see, my goal was to channel my best 'Honey Ryder,' minus the hunting knife in a bikini holster. (Honey Ryder was one of my favorite Bond girls..I'm a huge 007 fan if you didn't know) Instead, my weapon of choice was the Jungle Glow Enzyme Cleanser + Mask along with the Cleopatra Restorative Milk + Honey Beauty Mask as the sidekick from LilFox.

CLEOPATRA RESTORATIVE MILK + HONEY BEAUTY MASK

For the shoot, I applied the Cleopatra Restorative Milk + Honey Beauty Mask. With this mask, you will need water to mix since this mask comes in a powder form. Since our location was at the beach, I decided to use ocean water.

** Ocean water is packed with healthy skin-loving minerals like magnesium, potassium, and calcium which is beneficial for various skin types. The salt water absorbs the toxins from the body and on the skin, including acne-causing bacteria, and treats infections and encourages healing to take place. So if you're ever given the chance, substitute ocean water for faucet water for added skin healing properties.

    Steps:

  • Step 002: Pour 1 tablespoon of the dry mask into the clean bowl.
  • Step 003: Pour the ocean water into the bowl slowly and mix with your brush until the consistency is a loose paste.
  • Step 004: With brush, apply the mask to your face. (make sure you bring a mirror when applying your masks at the beach because you'll want to look really casual.)
  • Step 005: Now is a great time to do some deep breathing while your mask is at work healing your skin.
  • Step 006: After 20-30 minutes, wash off mask and pat to dry.
  • Step 007: Grab a large banana leaf and channel your inner 'Bond Girl'.

REVIEW:

I give this product a thumbs up! The best way I can describe it is that you feel your skin aerating and the oxygen flowing through your pores upon application. Moments after washing off the mask, I felt my skin was brighter and more firm.

REVIEW:

My favorite thing about this product is that it is a multi-functional product. I absolutely loved using it as a cleanser since the Cleopatra is strictly a mask. With ingredients like Amazonian white clay, and cacao, these stimulate circulation in the skin. Meanwhile the raw Hawaiian rainforest honey and maracuja oil mingle to leave skin hydrated and plump. I have never experienced a cleanser quite like this one..one that exfoliates the grime and makeup off of the skin and yet leaves your skin hydrated and plump (not dry and tight). I found that after rinsing the cleanser, I wasn't desperately slathering on my moisturizer like I usually do with cleansers I have used in the past.

The JUNGLE GLOW is worth a try and definitely will be added to my daily habits.

Comment below if you have any questions and I would love your hear your experience with these products if you have tried them yourself!

Stay Healthy!
